1. Bayeux Cathedral (Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Bayeux)
Bayeux Cathedral is a wonderful piece of Norman architecture, and it's free to go in. It's not too big but like any church it's cool and peaceful and nice to just have a look around. Don't forget to stop by at night, because every evening at 10 pm the exterior cathedral walls are lit up with colourful lights and it's a beautiful spectacle.

3. Place Charles de Gaulle
Place de Gaulle is a grassy public park surrounded by trees which totally obscure the view of the road.and the surrounding buildings With a peaceful fountain in the middle, it's easy to find a sunny spot and is perfect for a midday sit-down or with a picnic. If you're looking for something larger, not too far away is Parc d'Omano, another larger public park with playground equipment like swings and grassy space to play ball games.
4. Pub Fiction
Pub Fiction is a local bar situated on a side-street off from the main street. It's themed decor rather fittingly suits the name; with movie posters pinned up all over the walls and a distinct American Wild West style - wooden panelling and swings inside to sit on, not just seats! (even that's got to be enough to persuade you). Often local bands play low-key gigs You may have to fork out for a drink but it's free to step inside and it's definitely worth it.
Stroll down Bayeux high street and check out all the trinkety shops full of local produce; cheese, sausages, Normandy cider and the aperitif 'Calvados' as well as the infamous caramel jam and milk jam. The latter has an acquired taste but the caramel jam is to die for. The best way I can describe it: Worther's Originals in spreadable form - amazing. You can taste both confitures for free in a small shop on the corner of the mainstreet and see for yourself!
